Spend far to much on my Duke's, the original 916 had the bare minimum spent on it but the 998 Hybrid has had a shed load chucked at it, the 996 is somewhere between the two and the boxes of bits for my 955 owe me a fair amount as well.
Thankfully the 583cc Desmo Due racer was built on a budget of £2k

I am lucky as my servicing is done very cheaply by my mate, and its very well looked after sadly it is always at the back of the queue so spends more time in the workshop than my garage.
but i have a couple of other money pits in the form of a RGV250SP and keeping the RC30 in better shape than when i got it costs an arm and a leg after each weekends use i find something else that looks either a bit old or worn so gets replaced.
So in the 1500 odd miles i have done on the RC in 6 months i have spend around 17 - 1800 quid in bits
on the 916 after 3000 so far this year it has cost me around £400 and that includes the last breakdown in france so new rectifier, battery, gene, service, tyres, C&S etc etc
In relative terms i spend far too much on bikes out of my sallary but hey you only live once !

I nearly choked and spat my tea out when I read this-the amount that has been spent on the 890 and the baby 'R' beggars belief-not counting the DesmoDue race bike..........

Ah the DD bike has cost a total of £5500 and i will recoup a lot of that at sale time ,or when its used as a winter bike.
Just got to save to buy 2 more for next year!

Well My 1999 916 (one of the last) was no trouble at all. I did well over 30,000 miles in 14months I loved it so much. Service costs were no more than a mid range saloon car. Then some son of a bitch nicked it.

My 888 Well apart from my one Mansfield bend mishap. Costs have been minermal. Let's face it if you don't buy the bling the cost to service is pro rata with the additional cost of purcahse Ducati/Jap crap.
