will i burn my butt?

can i replace the four bolts holding the subframe to the rest of the bike with stainless I have replaced all other [ non stress areas] with stainless and these would just finish her off or am i likely to drop through and burn my arse on the rear tyre?D

stainless

I was told that stainless is softer than the bolts [alloy] that the bike was fitted with on constrution and if you are going to use stainless then use a smeer of copper grese and dont over tighten but i aint no engineer so any advise would be much appreciated

Don't worry about it, the tensile and shear load capabilities of stainless steel and the plated ones are close enough for it not to be a concern. They will have used a factor of safety of at least 5:1 at the design stage, the subframe would probably bend before the bolts failed. (unless it's a Suzuki - then it will just snap off!!!)

I've had mine on stainless for a few years now. My ass is still in one piece with no burn marks whatsoever
