996Bp which fueling setup to use

I am currently putting together a 996 based bike to replace my trusty 916.
I have never ridden a 996 and here that the fueling on the standard 996 is far from ideal.
I have the standard complete 50mm twin injector setup to which I could add a power commander or a FIM chip,

or

would it be possible to fit the 748R shower injection setup that I have and get a chip mapped to suit, has anybody tried this does the larger 748R airbox fit a 996 BP frame as it could well make this a non-starter if that is indeed the case.

Kev
(forever tinkering)

My 996bp has had a single injector conversion and an FIM chip put in by Neil @ Sigma Performance.

Goes like stink.

Do you want it? I'm selling it.

Well due to the huge amount of suggestions I have fitted the standard ECU and chip along with the 50mm twin injectors and fitted a complete harness from a 996S as it allows me to fit the ECU on the Alloy subframe. Just need for the oil cooler to arive, add some oil and water, fit the new belts i have (must get belt tensioning tool back from Cath) and fire the wee beasty up, just so I can hear what that full 54mm exhaust sounds like.
can always try the 748R setup at a later stage

You didn't like my plan?

It was a bit expensive I must admit

Skids............. The 748R setup won't fit the frame. The cross member between the V of the motor is different to allow the deep airbox.
Go for the FIM single injector mod. That's the best route for the 996

Cheers Nelly, I suspected as much hence the 2nd part of the original question.
I may look into the FIM single injector setup once the bike is on the road, TPs conversion was a bit OTT price wise as it came with a 996 attached
