I'm sure if you dig around on the board someone posted a diagram on how to mod your stand cutout switch so that it will run on the stand in neutral, but not in gear (like "normal" bikes!).

Made up my own "bypass" wiring following the instructions on this site. Some of the wires weren't the same colour as the instructions but it wasn't rocket science to sort it out. You can buy ready made plug in kits for about £20-£25 in the UK. Best to do this if you aren't too happy with wiring.

It probably took me a couple of hours messing around so a plug in kit could be money well spent it. I didn't bother 'cos I got the bits for nothing and was feeling particularly tight wad at the time.
Now I know it is reliable I will tidy up with proper heat shrink some time.

As I understand it, the "bypass mod" relies on a functioning neutral switch (so the system knows when a gear is engaged). Given the reliability of the green light showing on my bike, not sure I'd trust that either!
