A friend is going to get a Mini DV camera for his brother who is going to live in Canada.
Question is, will a camera bought in the UK work okay when plugged into a Canadian TV? Do you still have the PAL/NTSC issue when you use the phone connectors?
As far as i'm aware rock' all new tv's etc are PAL/NTSC compatable in the UK. Just depends what they do in Canada. What TV is he gonna plug it into...if it's new chances are they wont have a problem. My camcorder can record in both modes.
Hi Lisa. My camcorder is only a few months old but the book has nothing to say about it! I know about the TV thing, wasnt sure if that applied to all the inputs on the TV, ie scart, phono etc.

It depends on the TV - I would have thought it would be MUCH cheaper to buy from the US/Canada anyways, change the £ for a $ and thats pretty much what you pay!
Rock it applies to all the inputs/outputs, since NTSC is 30 fps and PAL is 25fps, also NTSC is lower resolution
