crash protectors on ebay

Hello,

new 996bip owner here (wife gets baby i get 996)

Just a quickie questions.
Has anyone had any experience with these crash protectors on ebay?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ducati-748-916...QQcmdZViewItem

Look OK, And for the price of them, they look good value considering what they should save on a light spill I guess they would be worth every penny??? (Would not cut up original pannels but replace with race pannels?)

cheers for your help

crash protectors

That was quick ...cheers for the feedback!

Hmm agree the r and g ones have a support bar running between the two bungs. But the clamps on the frame are done in the same way. The frame is pretty strong so felt a mild controlled drop on the ground (Side stand fun!) it would help. As for a 80mph trash....nahh

**going off subject.. Sorry** On another point has anyone posted a general topic of servicing and where they went with ££ attached....A sticky post perhaps? My local would be ducati south london (bad stories but no 1st hand knowledge ) or Pro Twins..(not sure)

**P.S. great community, cheers for all your help!**

Give Nelly a ring at Cornerspeed, he does some Speedymoto ones, they use a long stud throught the frame/engine mounting point.

direct link to the product on the Speedymoto site

Never had any service work done by Pro-Twins, but they're really helpful and knowledgeable on the phone for mail order purposes. also do good deals on upgrade parts, used or new.

I considered (even bought) the cyclecat ones http://www.cyclecat.com/S1-1.htm

Following consultation with the people of this site I was persuaded that they would be more trouble than they were worth in a crash.

I did fit a set of fork bungs

55 - I would like to hear what you where fed about cycle cat slider products for the SBK- if you would again share with us how "they are more trouble than they are worth" ? I would then be able to run over to the facility and provide some constructive design critisism -

The moto design, the Cycle cat design and others that utilize through engine bolt mounts are just flat out the best frame slider option. The frame mount slider (without any direct crash damage stories to share)...just intuitively leads me to believe more frame damage would be the result with a track incident. low profile engine through bolt / under fairings might provide additional positives possibly avoiding protruding slider grabs.

I can say the through engine bolt / fairing hole drilled units on my RC51 have done there job twice with zero frame damage....errrr well the second time...the bike was a disaster..but no frame damage

additionally these fork and rear swing arm...even for SS SBK now! look like great additional protection...designed well seemingly as i have had contact with the manufacturer and seller and replacement "bungs" are available. have a look- they do seem on the protruding side visually....i would guess additional help for the fork lower as you toss your lovely girl down the track....fair price no less when compared the R@G yes?

i will toss you all this.....propabably been talked about already...but a true savings....on a nice AFAM GQ change copy so to speak...maybe better silver or black. AND this price includes AFAM sprocket pitch and tooth CHOICE @
now that is way fair@ i talked with these manufacturerer and the ebay sales is marketing and once numbers and the name gets out the prices will be restructured to be more in tune ...but competitive with the higher priced options.

HA ...you can all thank me for the black ano option

i'm in visual love with this though.....

\sorry for the verbal ramble...i have Ducati issues....i'll go back to my side of the pond now
