Question from a Desmo Due would-be racer...
Would anyone be able to help me with this........

What is the significance of a "Legend" logo on the seat unit of a 1996 600ss??

It has black wheels, swing arm and footpegs (hangers)

Was it a special edition or do they have all have that??

Excuse my ignorance but I don't know anything about these bikes

Many thanks peeps

An exhaustive two min web search has failed to turn up anything on a 600SS Legend.

Sounds like a home made jobbie. Be careful you don't buy anything that'll need major changes later to comply with the rules. Check that the swingarm is still steel, the forks non-adjustable (except preload), and the wheels standard brembo items.

Cheers,

Ali

Hmmm, something not quite right about this one....

The black wheels I could go for (as one year of the SS had 'em), but the black fork bottoms and disc carriers look distinctly home made to me. On the bonus side it's sporting a pair of shiny new goldline calipers that, again, don't look original, but would be within the DD regs.

I'm still not sold on the whole Legend ltd edition but it doesn't look like you'd have many regs probs, it's already got twin discs, and it'll be a bit different from the rest. What's the guy asking? About £1350??

Cheers,

Ali

As far as a Desmo Due racer goes it looks suitable to me, looks like most oyher 600SS's with a bit of black paint added to fork legs and disc centres

"As far as a Desmo Due racer goes it looks suitable to me, looks like most oyher 600SS's with a bit of black paint added to fork legs and disc centres"-I reckon that's 'go faster' black paint tha know's Skids-reckon we might have to give him a weight penalty................
Looks ok to me Uncledunnie, if the price is right go for it.

fork bottoms have Ducati cast into them so legit I am assuming

The chaps asking for a bit more than that, but we're still talking - just want to be sure about what I'm buying before I commit
