Any ideas why this would happen guys?
Scared the living bejeebus out of me seeing smoke and flames billowing out of the bike this morning.
Once the flames had gone out and i decided i needed to get home, it started first time and didnt catch light again.
very odd.

Looks like the heavy duty cable from battery to solenoid has earthed out?

That would make it about a 300 amp fuse that is not going to blow but is going to get very hot.

Well i found what did it. You were right Dave.
The incoming lead from the battery had been rubbing against the cylinder head and once the rubber had worn through... it shorted.
Parts ordered from Veloce today, although have a couple of week wait for them to arrive.
