Dyno chart - 900SL - FCR41s - Sil Motor

Hi All,

Just got the SL back from PDQ and thought you might like to browse the chart. Top end is now 78.4bhp, and she's making a healthy 60ft-lbs of torque. What surpised me was the incredible smoothness of the curve. I know the software does a certain amount, but it's definitely a very nice linear delivery.

Overall, I think the carbs are probably worth about 4bhp. My engine should be good for 72 in standard trim, 74 with the cans, so 78.4 with the carbs sounds about right.

Of course the graph is only half the story, the real news is in the injector pumps which make a real difference to the first half-second after winding on the power. Why they aren't fitted to every carb is completely beyond me.

More after I've given her some berries in Narfuk next weekend.

Cheers,

ali

Ali,

Looks good, I had flatties on a Suzuki motor, I know exactly what you mean. Lots of nice rattles to match the clutch too...

Cheers Phil. That's pretty much as expected, 4.5bhp and a few more revs at the top end. I'm surprised the FE was only making 72 before the re-jetting. Goes to show that slip-ons really do need re-jetting to get the best out of them.

Cheers,

Ali

Ali,

If you ever what to play with jetting on the track/road, drop me a line, I have a large selection (even a huge hole conversion kit for methanol) of jets and bits.

Rgds, Rob
