I think you have to pay for them.
Because I'm a paid up member and I've got this cute little box (or so I've been told) with all these funny things in to brighten up and high light a thread.

Obviously your Roundel's bigger than mine and it must therefore hide your cute little box.

You either use the ones at the bottom of your 'reply to thread' box or there's a more complicated system, which I looked at when the board changed but now it just seems too fiddly to bother with. Can't even remember how to find it now.

You could just make your posts a lot more interesting and then they wouldn't need anything to liven them up

If you gently move the mouse over the cute little smilie box, then go to the word MORE , just below the red devil, you know where he is! It opens a whole new world of beauty and pleasure for us all to behold.

I think I had the problem where I could not get them in and found there was a setting in my profile - something about used advanced reply or something and now I get the smilies every time I do a reply.
