Well it would appear that most of the participants had an excellent time at Cadwell over the last couple of days.
I need to appologise to all concerned for teh fact that I had officially the loudest bike present. It transpired that 3 Desmosedici were able to get under the 105db noise limit.
Unfortunately my 1974 750GT started off at 112db "minimum", with DB killers we got it down to 108db, still double the limit.
So I had to put the bike on the trailer and just bring it home. Luckily Ducati managed to bring along some bikes for me to play with, so big thanks to them and I will have to see what I bring along next year!
Should have removed a spark plug, that should have halved the noise
Better to leave the plug in ;-) Just lift the plug cap corresponding to the exhaust pipe they use to do the testing. That trick got a fair few RGs passed the sound check on a quiet day at Oulton Park a few years ago. Mind you, I'm not sure how well the GT750 would have run on just 1 cylinder!
Mood: Been Testing the 3 P's (Pizza, Pasta, & PERONI!)
I was behind one in the sound check Q at Assen a couple of years ago. It too failed, until the owner pointed out that the noise was coming from the intake trumpets not the zorst !
Funnily enough they let him go through................
I saw the bike on the trailer in the paddock,.....the "silencers" have Conti stamped on them,......well they will be straight through then!
You need to ask? Of course, they are the real thing and hence all of the problems. Now about to get it off the trailer and go up to the Bank in Bromley, so will set off all the car alarms in the multi storey car park to make me feel better!
