full metal jacket

I was out to day on my 999S and it decked out over a large wallow in the road and did the sump in, you know the bit I'm on about, the end casting of the filter,
I was lucky,I didnt know what I'd done till I got home.
But it could of been so much worse, the signs were there, the noise was there but I thought it was the fairing touching down, and the rear tyre slid abit but it had just rained,
Anyway I did something about it, so next time it hits down it wont leave oil over my back tyre, not that it's that common.
I armour plated it, A 4mm shield around it made out of hard wearing phoserous bronze,
If you have a deep sump like me and you dont want to take the bus home or have a crash, you might want to do the same mod to your bike,
so heres some pictures for you,

I'm a bit suprised that others haven't asked if you could do the same for them. Have read of a couple of bikes grinding through the filter casing and dumping the oil.

Thats not what I though, I dont have C,N,C, so it takes a lot of time to make that type of thing, it's made to 0.03mm, a cam on a GSX is 0.20mm .
And I would need the filter casting I was making the shield for as they,re not made to that kind of prescion, each one would have to be a one off.
Dont get me wrong I dont mind it's just most people would'nt want to pay that much for what looks a simple bit of enginering,
it's a one off thing and most buy mass produced products,
If you look at my bike theres lot's of one off stuff that you can't buy, I think I can make better than you can buy,
so it floats my boat as they say.
But if you get stuck I don't mind the odd one or two,
