Was in the local Ducati store yesterday, and just out of curiosity looked at the service chart, and how much one of those 749/999 things cost in relation to 748/9*6/998 to service...
It made quite interesting reading.....
748R 2 year/12,000 service around £600 749R 2 year/12,000 service around £860 !!! 999R 2 year/12,000 service around £617 998S 2 year/12,000 service around £570
Why is the 749R the most expensive of the lot I ask myself?
Ironically, when the 999 was launched, Ducati implied servicing would be cheaper/easier on the new bikes due to them having far fewer parts (cant remember the stats, but it does have loads less components than the 748/9**).
My mate had a 999 in for service the other day and he reckoned there not as easy to work on at all...I think from memory a pair of airfilters was about £60 too..
Just had my first service done today on my 749R, total cost including changing the front sprocket to a 14t was £44.00 This included a new oil filter and 4 litres of oil at £6.50 a litre Is this about the average price for a first service ?
