Dealer said as standard the hugger is only held on by two bolts on the left so it flaps about a bit.

He recommnded a small hole and screw into the swingarm on the right side.

Anyone else had this done?

A bit poor when it is an expensive original accsseory.

Yep tecmoto did the same when i bought one off them, not much you can do if there isnt anywhere to bolt it to on the right, not a flaw in the hugger more like a flaw in the bike!

There is a section on Ducati .com describing how its OK to drill & tap a small hole in the swingarm to allow the hugger to fit better !

my swinging arm has been drilled and tapped even with a bolt on it the hugger still flaps about like a mad thing

GO to the local hardware store and buy some 3 m or any type of DOUBLE stick or 2 sided sticky tape and apply it against the swingarm and then apply heat and then fit hugger. Works perfectly for me and does NOT flap in the wind.

As per previous thread - Apart from aesthetics - another good reason to fit a shock guard and seperate chain guard!

I have a DP hugger and its been drilled and fitted to the swing arm. Mine does not flap like a very flappy thing! (at all)

My hugger isn't DP and it's fitted at the two mounting points and doesn't flap either

I guess it's down to design of the hugger and the amount (layers) of carbon used along with the resin. More carbon/resin will mean more regidity to stop it flapping.
