I knew there was a reason I never threw away that Ducati 748/9** Haynes manual!* And you lot did say it would only be a matter of time before I saw the error of my ways....
On Sunday, I'll be doing a straight swap of my 2006 R6 for this beauty:
http://www.kestrelhonda.co.uk/viewbi...OBJ_ID=1015232 I could probably get a bit more than £4.4K for my R6, but TBH, Ohlins specced 748Rs don't seem to come up very often, and when they do, dealers seem to want nearer £5K for them, so, especially given that it is in the colour I want, I thought it would be best to strike while the iron is hot. This deal also saves me the hassle of dealing with all the retards who answer autotrader/ebay classifieds, which, in my view, is definitely worth at least a few hundred quid.
I was also considering a deal involving my R6 for a full carbon-fairing'd 853 which is for sale on Pistonheads, but in the end, I decided to go for the 748R, which, TBH, is what I should have done ages ago, rather than going down the lazy 996S route and then, worse still, blundering into the R6 cul-de-sac.
* Actually, the Haynes manual doesn't cover the "R" series bikes, but you get my drift.
