I agree with this thread - well the start of it anyway!

The H.o.n.d.a. and Yam thing was funny for all of an hour, but now it is childish. It's no wonder that on occasions Ducati riders get labelled as toffee nosed rich buggers with all the gear and no idea type of thing when you look at the language censoring on here.

And as for a little bit of swearing, as long as it doens't descend into an MCN board type thing, I think we adults should be able to cooperate.

For feck's sake.

Ade.

You see, it's inconsistent as well. You can say bugger but not crap

I agree with Jools, a bit too much censorship me thinks and equally tired of the Honda, Yamaha bit as well.

BTW sometimes i miss Vman, his fireworks post was hilarious (on the other hand i got miffed at times as well, but then just avoided the threads i didn't like).

Couldn't we have a password protected Vman section so those offended could easily avoid

Jools, good on yer mate, and Im all for more board relaxation

I can say Lagos and no one censors that.........BUT THE PLACE SHOULD BE

On a more serious note, we are all (or claim to be) sensible adults and while I agree that f....... and c....... and a few other words should be asterisked, but not all.
Someone mentioned V thingy, and his posts were obscene, rude and downright hypocritical with all sorts of language for our coppers, people of different ethnic backgrounds and different colours.
I say get rid of the Hon, Yam, Suz etc etc "funnies", ban some certain works, keep a sharp eye out for downright rudeness (1st time a warning, 2nd strike and out) and so forth
I may not post as much as I used to but Im all for common sense

Sweating my hairy funny likkle dangly things off

My Granny, who was very old school ( born 1908 ) and very prim and proper, always said that swearing showed a distinct lack of vocabulary.. i.e.. If you had to add a swear word to a sentence, it was because you could not find an appropriate alternative.

Now I am far from perfect and have used gutteral language as well as the next person, but since having a little person around me who repeats EVERYTHING you say ( including calling that idiot who opened his door on me an 'R Sole' at the topof his voice ) I soon realised that swearing is not needed in conversation to get a point across !!!

I still have the odd verbal slip, but I will quite happily put my hand up and admit that the censorship of the swear words on this board does not bother me !
