A good year

Well there to try and balance out against the doom threads I wanted to say that I have had a pretty good year

Ok so I crashed, but I was racing which was great.
Changed jobs to one that is even worse and was at risk of redundancy, but they pay me so who cares.
Had a few injuries throughout the year, but all limbs intact now

Had some great holidays, had some great rides, met some fantastic people and got some new additions to the family.

All in all a pretty good year by my standards I am really quite happy with life

For all those that are feeling down this isn't supposed to be a dig, because i have been there and had the crappiest years and all I can say is in most cases it will get better

My second son was born,so that was good, even if it has taken away all my time.
Next year will be even better as he's got to sleep through at least one of those nights.

Nice post Lily. That's the good thing about this time of year, if its been a **** year, you can look forward to the next one, if its been a good one you've got something to celebrate.

Having said that, I'm impressed with your "looking on the bright side" skills....do I take it you're a "glass half full" person!

From my point of view, its not been the best of years, but one of the definite bright spots has been the DSC. I just can't put into words how great this club is. There may be some periodic agro on the message board, but the number of great people I have met and the support I have received has been just unbelievable.

Wishing everyone a happy, prosperous and safe 2006,

Ian

Nice one Lily,

I've had a great year, with the odd bad day thrown in just to bring me down to earth. I am the eternal optimist.

if the worst i've got to moan about is Sunderland's less than sparkling start to the season then i should be very greatfull

Lily, I'm often impressed with your positive approach... good on you girl!
Especially after breaking yourself and your bike at Donny, then all you had to say was "yeah, I dun a race!!"

Happy '06 to you, hope it stays good.

Having spent a few years where the glass seemed permanently empty I think that whenever things seem crap I try to take the approach that often there is very little you can do to change stuff so you just get on and find the good stuff.

It doesn't always work, it has to be said, but its definitely better than stressing about things for more than a day.

I am quite surprised that not many folks have positive things to say about their year though.

Nice post Lil...
One thing I find is that my job helps me keep things in perspective.
No matter how bad things are, at least you get to wake up the next day to moan how bad yesterday was.
Don't take life too seriously, unless you are seriously enjoying it.
This ain't no dress rehearsal.

Had some major highs and lows this year in various ways, but Im still here with a roof over my head and too much food ()and) drink in my belly which is good. No matter how bad things get most of us have it better than most. If you get what I mean!? Can always go and pick grapes in France if things get really bad.

Doesn't matter what sort of year ive had,as long as ive got my family around me,so ive had a good un!
As you say Claire no point worrying for more than a day!
As a good friend once said to me "name me one thing that improves with worry"
Easy to say but harder to put into practice.
Have a goodun
