About 18 months ago had a Sunbeam Lotus sitting in the garage for about a year, only needed a bit of work to get it back on the road, but never got round to it.
Sold it to a mate who sorted it out in about a month, got to drive it (had owned previously as rally cars) and was disappointed, things had moved on. I guess the point is not to compare with modern cars, and accept the older stuff for what it is.
Still look at some "classics" and get an attack of nostalgia. Could probably cure myself of that by hiring something from the many companies that have sprung up in recent years
