Hey guys, I just stumbled accross your site here and thought i'd sign up. I've been riding a 750SS for about 2 years and had to sell it for school. But i'm graduating soon and i just bought my dream bike. (2000 748). It's got 7500 miles on it. what should i check out on it or any other ideas for me before i start putting my own miles on it?
Hi Pete, and welcome. You'll get lots of sound advice from the DSC. I've done the same as you - 750ss to 748. I'd also set the suspension to standard settings to start from, unless you know how the previous owner had it set up.
Oh, and mine's a JD on the rocks from the virtual bar....
As has been said make sure belts have been done, in fact make sure the service history is up to date. I'd guess with that mileage clutch plates might have been replaced, if not they will need replacing soon I guess, depending on the previous owner. Battery possibly? 5 years again should be OK, but might be something to check. Obvious crash damage if any.
welcome aboard and did they say that you have to let us use your home for our holidays for the first few months?? oh well worth a try! youll get good advice of some chaps on here and hope you enjoy the bike
