Engine rebuild.

Hello everybody.....

I have had some problems this year in the engine department, and now have three!

I have one in the bike that seems o.k. but very underpowered.

one at work under my desk, working in a food shop i am wondering what the health and safety man might say. It has a knackered top end!

One in my mums garage that has a knackered bottom end!

I have been thinking that if I changed the heads from one to the other I would have a good engine.

Who could do that for me? and how much? estimate obviously.

as some people may know I have bought a 999 but thats just for a bit of fun really and I do still want to race in DD next year, I think I could be competitive with a decent engine as the rest of the bike seems to suit me.

I have a problem - no one else can help - and if I can find
them - maybe I can hire: The DD Team!

swapping the good top end on to the good bottom end is a relatively easy job, if I had the time and space i'd offer but as I haven't (i'll be taking the top end off mine soon and lapping the valves, setting clearances, cam timing etc)you'll need to find someone else to do it. Such as Nelly at CornerSpeed or Mike at MDS

Don't forget the ignition timing

Checked mine out proper and it's 8 degrees retarded at static

I'll be checking that once I have it all back together and this time running on a proper 620 ECU, clocks etc, I've had enough of trying to run it on the 750SSie ECU. Still I have a good 4 months to get it done
