996 crank bearing failure

Well I ignored all the warnings along the way and Sunday the 996 packed up.

I got recovered and stripped off the alternator side crankcase cover to find the alternator nut had worked loose.

Stator has been pulled off the inside of the crankcase cover and ground down, causing it to fail-
Question - can I helicoil the now ovalled and stripped out threads, as the rest of the cover is ok apart from the crank end bearing which has a worn face?

Rotor is damaged inside where the stator has ground against the sides and flywheel bolts.

Starter clutch one-way clutch rollers have flat spots on them.

Rotor nut threads are worn away on the innermost face.

Washer behind flywheel split.

Main bearing on crankshaft is broken and looks like one of the ball bearings is gone.......

Honestly, do you think the work required is;

1. Worth it?
2. Capable of being done by the average home mechanic? (apart from the measuring of the crankshaft and conrods, journal bearings, etc?)

As I have been given a basic estimate of at least £1,000 labour + parts.
