Nut and bolt check!!!!

Just a word of warning, although the bike had a general check over before I took it to brands at easter I was trying to fit crash bungs(wrong type wont fit) and discovered the 3 main frame to engine bolts were loose!! the rear one turned about 3 times before it started to tighten over 5 turns before it was tight. it apears that the stress of being thrashed is lossening everything off

Agreed - I find loose ones here and there everytime I get back in off the track.

Very good point Dave, most of my fairing bolts had shaken loose after 1 track day.......a once over to check all bolts is deffo a good idea after every outing. I certainly did not expect any to be loose after a few sessions on track.

Not one of those - it's an M8 x 40 allen head which is very rusty.

It's the sort of thing that doesn't go in just any old hole, but I've checked everywhere I can think of but can't find it!

If I had taken it out then given the condition I would have replaced it too.

The fairings are coming off this week for a full check, so I'll be able to give it another going over then.

side stand mounting bolt?? Did it drop in when you removed it?? Other places with that size............. shock mountings (that'd be fairly obvious tho')
That's a pretty big bolt that will have a "proper" job to do. It'd be fairly obvious if it had been in use.......

No side stand on it and it was there after a couple of outings, so I've no idea.

Given that it's rusty I'm sure it's an external bolt, but all the obvious ones are there. I don't remember dropping anything and not finding it, so it has me puzzled.

It could always have come off someone else's bike and it dropped in the pan, but I think that's unlikely.

Anyway, I'll check over this week as there's really not much to go over.
