Serice and MOT

Dear all
I've had my 749 off the road for a year needs an Mot and service I live in St. Albans and just had a quote from Ducati Aylesbury.

£100 for collection and delivery
£200 oil service
£200 for removing and refitting Termi end can
£24 MOT

Is this right? especially the Termi costs (i still have and am supplying the original system)

Jonathan

Sounds like a con with the termi. Take it in with the Termi fitted bike sits in the corner nice easy £200. At least Dick Turpin wore a mask. Take the bike else where for the MOT save the money. Just take it to them to get the service done. Stamp in the book.

How Much

Swap over the can yourself and find somewhere who will service your bike more local, after all the bikes three years old so you do not have a manufactures warranty.

Just ask the MOT station about the termi you'll be supprised.

Regards

Just had my 748r serviced (belts every year!), MOT (with 50mm Termis), tyres fitted (supplied by me) and bike taken away and returned in van.
£492 Ducati main dealer, looks like a better deal to me!

Exhaust System
Complete, secure, correct type and not too noisy.

Its pretty vague which is why its mostly down to the testers discretion. I have found a friendly MOT tester near me who is OK with noisy exhausts, as long as you don't take the pi55.

I mentioned Harleys in another post. My mate has a Fat Boy with straight through pipes. They go straight through the MOT as the tester believes they are not too loud. After working with custom Harleys for years he is probably stone deaf.

i had my 999s MOT last month and the can no longer requires a kit mark on it so if it is not excessively loud the tester can pass it.

Thanks everyone

It does seem that it is at the testers discretion and all the other quotes I have had today seem to think they will get it through no problem, so thats 200 saved!!!

The service quote has ranged from 'just an oil change' to a by the book service and has ranged from 180 to 350 (both independants and main dealers) but the dealers will only stamp the book with the official (more expensive) service so thats what is happening.

Thanks everyone
