998 Gearing whats best ?

My Hybrid is nearly ready so now that I am getting close to taking it for a blast.
Currently it has the 748RS gearing on it of 14/40 which I think may be a bit low geared even allowing for it having a BP engine fitted. Chain size is 520 and the rear carrier is a Renthal, easiest option is to change to a 36 or 37 rear sprocket which will probably have to be purchased.
I was wondering what other owners are running on their 998s

Kev

standard gearing on my 996R (essentially same engine as the 998S) is 15/35. I now run 14/35 but will be changing that to 15/38 when new chain and sprockets required.

Cheers Shaun I've had a check of my sprockets and I have a 38 rear Renthal in 520 size, I also have a 15t but I need that on the SS for Castle Combe and Snetterton so I had better go and buy another.

Felix its mainly for road use and the odd trackday, although it would make a better race bike than the previous Ducati's that I have raced as it has the Mag arm, mag yokes, mag wheels etc. But after selling bikes like my Harris to allow me to go racing and having my Bimota stolen while I was Pembrey racing one weekend I thought it was time I had a nice road bike again.

Still a few things need doing before the BMF, then after that the Ohlins forks, Brembo radials, 54mm Ti termis, etc will be added.

Grass Totto, you have better eyesight tham I do all I can see is the weeds, nettles etc, a bit of grass would be nice, but the two Staffy's demolished that along time ago.
Still who wants to be in their back garden of a Ex council terrace doing gardening when there are roads to be ridden.
