Hi All,

I've just found this forum, and thought you chaps might be able to assist me with a little problem I experienced yesterday.

First I should introduce myself. I'm Nik, 30, and I live nr Chichester, and I have a red 98 900SSie. I've fitted a power commader, Remus DP carbon cans, a Scottoiler, and recently an Autocom intercom (tops!). I do a fair few miles with my girlfriend on the back, plus commuting, and trackdays.

Anyway, yesterday I was riding back from a friend's in Gloucestershire and the clocks stopped working - no back-lighting, no tacho or temp guage, plus no indicators. Also the tail light is out (brake light still works). Fuses are all ok, so not sure where to look. Any tips would be appreciated.

The fairing side panels are off (just done belts) so I guess the fuse box might be drowned. I'm going to check it all over tonight.

Incidentally I'm looking for a r/h half fairing panel, not bothered if it's tatty. Anything considered, as long as it's cheap!

cheers,

Nik

Hi Rob, how are you and Di? Nice to hear from you. How's the R?

Probably won't be doing any trackdays until after June - we're going to Italy on the bike, so I'm saving my cash for the trip (and can't afford to risk crashing it!).

Still got the R?

cheers,

Nik

Hi Nik,
Welcome aboard, with regard to your probs... I am not sure how the wiring loom is set up on your bike (my SS is a 97 carb job) but I suspect it may be similar to the setup on my ST2. I have similar probs but mine included the engine cutting out from time to time.

On the left hand side near the headlight is a big multiplug seperate that and check for bad or dirty connections try wiggling it while the ignition is on to see if you get any response (before you pull it apart)
Any way thats my twopennorth....what do I know I am living with the natives

Thanks Phil, I'll take a look at it tonight and let you know how I get on. Hopefully it'll all have dried out by now!

BTW Last summer when my girlfriend and I were riding up to Brands WSB a guy on a 900SSie pulled up to the pump next to us at Pease Pottage services. From memory the bike had remus cans and a DP high level screen - and DSC sticker on it. Anyone own up?!

cheers,

Nik
