Getting spare keys cut?

My 998s only came with one key and without the metal code strip attached

Does anyone know where/how you can get a spare cut as only one key makes me nervous!!

Thanks

Had the same problem with the 996R. Got a new Ducati key blank from Snells and my local Minuteman store cut me a new one - less than £10 all in.

I got a blank from Ducati, then got it cut at a local key cutter.

Apparently you can use some Kawasaki key blanks as well, they just don't say Ducati on them.

If you cant get a ducati blank then kawasaki ones are the same. Any high street locksmith type person should be able to cut it for you.

I wouldn't even bother making a special trip to a Ducati dealer for a start. As others have said, your friendly neighbourhood key-cutter may well have a suitable blank; I got a key cut for my 750SS just round the corner.

Ducati key blanks are also sold on ebay.

My bike (996s) only came with one key - my local shoe repairers/ key cutters sent off for kawasaki blank keys and 2 days later cut me a couple of spares.

There's a bloke in Chelmsford, who if you take a digital picture of your key, will cut one for you and tell you the number as well.

Can dig out his address if you want.
