Going to 2006 Misano - Advice wanted

OK, was planning a 2 week hol with Imola in the middle but it looks like that's going to tun at the very last weekend of Sept again and we kinda fancy some hot times. So, it looks like Misano in June.

Never been before so looking for the following:

1. Hotel recomendations with good, secure bike garage, pref in wlking distance to the cicuit.
2. How did you book, buy tickets. Imola was a joke, pay by bank txfr and pick them up form the shop when we arrived.
3, Advice on the circuit - is it access all areas, assuming you buy the passes. Valencia was real tough; we could only spectate from the single area that we had tickets for. Imola & Magny Cours much better, go and watch from where you like all weekend.
4. Do they have big screens and covered grandstands?
5. Any other useful snippets you can pass on...

TIA, Rob

We have been to Misano a few times,(Big silver bird and hire car),and usually stay in Cesanatico just north of Rimini. Most of the hotels are quite a walk from the circuit, remember the circuit is at Santa Monica, not Misano! Its all up hill from the town to the circuit as well.
Chances are its gonna be extremely hot in June so take plenty of sun slap and water.
We usually just buy the tickets at the gate. The advance ticket sales usally end in April or summat and the savings are minimal.Once you get your general admission ticket you can then upgrade to a grandstand or paddock ticket.
I have sat in the stand once and would'nt do it again.Yep you are in the shade, and yep there is a big screen in front of you.Unfortunatly the rest of the view aint up to much.
Best place for viewing is on the last left hander before the back straight. You can see nearly two thirds of the track here. Its also awesome watching the bikes going sideways before they hit the straight. You can also see the first two corners where there is always plenty of action and crashes. You can wander around most of the circuit if you prefer.
As I said before, the chances are it will be hotter than hell there,so we invested in a little two man tent,(tenner from Argos) and set it up on the back straight banking. It gave us somewhere to sit in the shade between races. It was also right opposite a bar/food outlet and the bogs.
Mind you,you dont have to move to find refeshments as there are vendors wandering around every 10 minutes or so with ice lollies, beer water etc,....they have got it sussed in Italy!
Go to the circuit on thursday afternoon for the free paddock show and autograph sessions. All the riders are introduced and interviewed to the crowd. They then sign posters and stuff.Every now and then they throw out some free passes for the weekend. Its possible to have a wander around and have a nosey in the garages.Well worth a look.
Like any big bike race meeting, getting out is a bit of a 'mare.
This year we met up with Flanks and Sharon and sat out side the circuit watching everyone leave over a few beers.
Topped off a good weekend.
