Stone chip adhesive protector

Does anyone know where you can buy (reasonably) thick rubbery self adhesive transparent stone chip- protector..?

Ive seen it on the rear wheel arches of porsche 911s/Lotus elises etc and things like that and want to put a few strategically placed sections on the belly of my monster as it seems to be getting a bit of a pebble dashing - and they aint got the best reputation for the paint staying on !!

Cheers - hope that makes sense..!

Go to a sign shop and get a yard of their clear static-cling vinyl for about £3. It comes 36 inches wide.

If the contour requires an adhesive for fit, then try here

Call someone like Merlin Motorsport and ask for Helicopter Tape.

It's leading edge tape to do exactly what you've described. I've got a small roll that I got via a mate who's involved in Porsche endurance racing (proper Le Mans stuff). F1 use it as well apparently.

Hein Gerrick (is that spelt right?) do sheets of thick clear protective patches. Very impressed with its strength but watch it on paintwork cos once it's on it's difficult to remove it again without taking paint with it. (Carbon key protector/cover now hiding bald patch). Best to heat with a hairdryer before trying to remove. Must remember that.

Leading Edge (Helicopter Blade Tape) tape is available from Demon Tweeks part No: 86741HS. It is 4 inches wide and costs £12.57 / Mtr.
I have used it on the belly pan of my BMW R1100s to stop stone chips etc and also have it on the rear / top of the tank on my 749S as a clear tank protector. Spray the surface of what ever you are going to fix it to with water so that it will slide, then work the water and air out from under, a hair drier on warm will help.

protects all the leading edges of fairing, very effective.

I've got a roll of the helicopter tape, works well on the wings of my aircraft at speeds in excess of 200 mph. I can sell you as much as you need at tenner a metre for a 4inch wide strip. Will bring to Cadwell monday of I remember
