Primary drive gears - ratios

Hi all, i have this comment in my other tread, but wanted to get a suggestion on this issue.

So, as i know, the 916 has 2:1 primary drive ratio, 62/31 gears.

The 916SP and 996 have 1.843:1 ratio 59/32 gears.

I checked Brad Black (moto-one)'s site and he says the 916 '96 modell is breaking the primary gears a lot. Has anybody experienced this?

Is there any benefit of fitting the 996 gears? Will they fit?

Thanks

Hi, V 2 supply an uprated set with a ratio of 1.93i:1(29/56) that provide an 11% increase in load capabilty, also much lighter. If they have them in stock there service is very good.

Thanks, but can somebody advise about fitting the 996 (Ducati original) gears?
