Slipper Clutch

Anyone tried putting the slipper clutch from the 696 in a 620??

Easy mod or daft idea?

Yep, Neil Appleby the 2011 Desmo Due Class A Champion fitted a dry slipper clutch to his 620
The Six Speed 620s come with their own form of Wet Slipper Clutch in the form of a APTC Clutch

696 is a wet clutch too ... I've got a 5 speed 620 (2002) ..

Accidently found myself the owner of a 696 motor .. was just going to sell it .. but then I got thinking

My 800 S2R shares the same APTC clutch as my 620 DD bike so It wouldn't suprise me if the 696 motor did as well and it would interchange as would the 6-speed gearbox

You think it would be as simple as swapping the baskets?

Where's the slipper bit? Is there any extra mechanism?

Baskets are a different diameter so you need to swap the whole lot, just like Andy Sheppard had to do a couple of years ago when we were racing at Snetterton
There is an extra mechanism, if you go to www.ducati.com and download a parts manual for the 696 you should be able to see the extra bits
