Anyone fitted Raask bar risers ?

Looking on the busters site saw these : http://www.busters-accessories.co.uk...l.asp?prod=RAA

Has anyone fitted them or tried them ? was thinking of getting the Helibars, but only really need to get the bars higher, so what do you reckon to usign these ?

As far as I remember Raask stuff is pretty good quality and they are a lot cheaper than the helibars !

Try Cycle Cat raisers from Spareshack ...

Will give about 1.5 inches of rise at the max . And then also adjustable

mikecardiff 16-May-2005 10:40

Yeah, I looked at the cyclecat ones, problem is you need to adapt the clutch and brake cylinder connections to fit, so thought it would be simpler using some where I can keep the original ones ( like the Heli bar ones ) - the cycle cat also cost LOADS more than the Raask

Correction mikecardiff!!

Fitted the Cycle Cat ones to my 748 last month and they go straight on WITHOUT and mods to the brake and clutch connections. They are so adjustable you can easliy accomodate the original stuff. The only things you need to replace are the two pieces of hose from the two fluid pots and their mounting brackets, all included.

Fitting the cyclecat bars is easy, I did it!!!

They are probably the best modification I have made :bouncy::bouncy:

Hmmm - got me thinking now - I might get the Raask ones first as they are only £40 and see how they feel, can always get the cycle cats later on - generally I dont mind the position of the bars, they could just do with being a bit higher to take some of the weight off in town.

did my cyclecat ones yesterday, quite easy to fit, only needed to trim the locator out of the kil switch. they are wider and certainly flatter and come out level with the top yolk without any clearance issues. the 2 feed hoses did need replacing with the ones supplied but that was all.

Have ordered a set of the Raask risers - only £35 so worth giving a try just to see what they are like at that price.

Will get some pics done once they arrive and I fit them so people can compare them to the Helibars and Cyclecat and see the differences.

MrWestys748 23-May-2005 11:11

What size did you order, was it 43mm...?

mikecardiff 23-May-2005 19:05

Ermm I think so ( hope so as the 748 does have 43mm forks ??? )

Why ? you've got me worried now !

Mike

I was thinking of ordering some for my 748 as well but wasn't sure which size to order. The book i looked in said the size was 43mm.

mikecardiff 23-May-2005 22:02

OK - I ordered the 43mm, which is what the manual says, so should be fine - they should arrive soon so I'll know if they fit then or not !

Hi, I am thinking about buying the cycle cat DBR-1's. Are they good, does it make a vast difference to the handling characteristics? etc. etc. they are quite pricey so I would like some feedback, positive or negative would be appreciated. :borg:

mikecardiff 31-May-2005 09:21

Have cancelled the order for the Raasks after realising they WONT fit the forks ( at least not at the top where I need them - DOH ! ).

Still fancy getting the Helibars, but have emailed the only company in the UK I could find selling them 3 times and still havent had a reply !!!!
