Personalised plates? I've never really been a fan of private plates - "if you can't tell which one is yours from 20 yards, then it's not really going to make a difference" school of thought. But the FE is now making me think otherwise. I can get <letter>5 SFE for not much money which could look like "SS FE" if spaced right (yes, I know hofficer...) (CH1 would also be nice but I don't really need another mortgage) The question is, should I do it? The poll results won't dictate what I do, but I'm genuinely undecided. Thoughts please... |
I have one on mine . . . . just go for it - dont listen to what we have to say! Khushy |
It's just another form of bling. Get it on there!!!:D |

I have a private plate on my bike, and the missus does on hers. They're not bike specific though in what they say, so can be transferred to other bikes. I think car/bike specific ones are a bit daft. Personal plates e.g. initials make much more sense. So I voted "Yes", but reading your example of "SS FE" I would say don't bother. I think that one sounds pants. |
"P4 NTS" also already taken |

I was always against private plates and considered them to be more "vanity plates". But seeing as the prices came reet down and I had opportunity, I blinged up the new bike with a nice little number that I can swap to any other vehicle. Agree with Twinfan on the vehicle specific one though, you may not get the money back when selling the bike. |

Got one, love it and hides the age of the bike ..... all for £250. Gets over all the cr*p when someone starts to **** your bike off cause it's not on the latest number plate. [Edited on 26-8-2005 by Carbon749] |

Best one I EVER saw was FUP16S on a black Beemer being driven by - you guessed it, 3 black dudes in shades. Talk about living dangerously! PS: For those that can't work it out, it was spaced to read FU Pigs! :sing: |
i am looking at one for me, its got both bike and initials as i couldnt find it i e mailed the DVLA and its coming up later in the year at one of their auctions. They have promised to me mail me in advance as I showed interest, maybe you could do the same but use your own initials not mine !:sing::burn: |
Living in Wigan I nearly purchased W16 ANR which could have been set as W16AN R meaning Wigganer. But, the bloke at the DVLA said that it would devalue my bike to nearly next to nothing. |
saw UNVME ona new bentley.....smug git :smug: |
