Personalised plates?

I've never really been a fan of private plates - "if you can't tell which one is yours from 20 yards, then it's not really going to make a difference" school of thought.

But the FE is now making me think otherwise. I can get <letter>5 SFE for not much money which could look like "SS FE" if spaced right (yes, I know hofficer...)

(CH1 would also be nice but I don't really need another mortgage)

The question is, should I do it? The poll results won't dictate what I do, but I'm genuinely undecided. Thoughts please...

I have a private plate on my bike, and the missus does on hers. They're not bike specific though in what they say, so can be transferred to other bikes. I think car/bike specific ones are a bit daft. Personal plates e.g. initials make much more sense.

So I voted "Yes", but reading your example of "SS FE" I would say don't bother. I think that one sounds pants.

I was always against private plates and considered them to be more "vanity plates". But seeing as the prices came reet down and I had opportunity, I blinged up the new bike with a nice little number that I can swap to any other vehicle.
Agree with Twinfan on the vehicle specific one though, you may not get the money back when selling the bike.
