Tell me I'm nuts Would it be possible to put a seatbelt tensioner type on a helmet strap? It would slide open easily under light pressure but lock tight when tugged. The advantages that I can see are; - easy to put helmet on with gloves on - no dangly straps when helmet is off - no frayed straps from rubbing against D-rings - comfortable fit every time The disadvantages; - expensive to manufacture - might add bulk/weight - consumer distrust Have I just become a millionaire or will I still have to wait for my share options to vest? |
Chi the retractor bit you are on about would add more bulk to the inside of the lid mate. i would have thought this would have been tried by now? |
but if a small enough one could be made, would you want one? |
errrr no sorry is that the wrong answer? |

I just thought you were a gasbag:lol: |
I can see the idea, but I wouldn't trust one. I'd rather have my helmet too tight (although it's always just right ;) ) than falling off in a accident. Oh, and you're nuts! :D |
Chi - you're not nuts...you just have an interesting view of reality :) Didnt someone once make a lid that had NO strap at all??? - I seem to remember one specialy constructed so that it wrapped under one's jaw  Frank |

Funny how you can build up a picture of someone as being a perfectly sensible bloke only to find out he is a complete F****ing lunatic  I think it's a great idea myself :D |

I know that one - the whole chinpiece locked onto the helmet. Remember that progress is only made by those who refuse to accept the status quo! Eric, consider your card to be marked for tomorrow! |
Looking forward to seeing you to mate ;) |
Yup....yer nuts! |
