help advise on clutch
 

Hi all,
silly question here but can anyone tell me if the outside pressure clutch plate is meant to stop rotation once the clutch lever is pulled in, as mine stops and i dont think it should, if memory serves me right the whole clutch mechaniseme rotates all the time whether the clutch lever is in or out. Just removed my slipper clutch and fitted the standard one back on and cant remember it just dont look right !!!!
just thought i would ask before striping it all down again.

It can stop rotating, 'specially if it's a slipper or aftermarket item that isn't "toothed" to the drum.
However, it should slow fairly gradually. If it doesn't, check the bearing in the pressure plate is OK. If it's tight, then the cap could be rubbing on the pushrod or worse still spinning the pushrod in the slave cylinder.

yep it will stop cos think about it that is connected to the drive and if the bike isnt moving then it wont be turning but the inner will till you release the lever, how ever they both spin when in nuetral

i heard you new your stuff !!! yes the clutch is a standard one and only done 3791 miles and just put it back on the bearings seems quite free and spins fine, it all seems to work fine although not road tested it yet,and as i said when the clutch lever is pulled in it slowly comes to a stop which i have never noticed until now and thought somethings wrong but if you say it,s meant to then fine, thanks again.
