Removing mirrors

Just about to send my 916 Bodywork off to HR racetech for a re spray.....:D

Only trouble.. how do the rear view mirror come off the nose cone.

They appear to have two pins that push through onto some sort of bracket....help......:puzzled:

Harv748 20-Feb-2006 13:04

Yep...and between those two pins is a screw...small allen key needed...size of which escapes me now, but undoo the screw then pull/twist the mirror off (pins pull out with the mirror).

2 second job.

Thanks Harv.

Mine appears to be a Hex nut, Its amazing what you notice when you open your eyes, I must have been half asleep.

Any other funnys I may encounter with bodywork removal that you could kindly tell me about...?

Harv748 20-Feb-2006 13:24

Not really...straight forward.

Remove the two screws from underneath the nose cone, and off it comes.

Remove the 2 dezus from underneath the fairings, and then the 4 from each side and then just take it away.

As for the seat, lift it up, unclip the wiring loom at the join, remove the rubber 'pitail' from the 'top-hat' stoppers and then remove them.

Seat comes off.
