Internal Oil Filter Just in the process of changing the oil and the small filter bit (not the cartridge) won't come out. Am I right in thinking it should just pull out or is there a trick to its removal? Any advice is welcome |
You mean the gauze filter? Well you should just unscrew it out of the cases and then all you need to do is wash it clean in petrol/paraffin. |
This is the one with a cap, unscrewed the cap and there is the gauze filter, does that unscrew aswell? |
Hmmmm.....sound nothing like mine. Photo? O perhaps Wilf on here can help? |
Its Normally attached to the plug end . 4D |
yeah , if it's a later type (MY200 onwards) you unscrew the cap (large allen key) and then the filter needs to be unscrewed also (same size allen I think) then it slides out, give it a clean (but have a good look at what's on it first, it's good chance to see the state of your motor) Worth replacing the alloy washer that's between the cap and cases, they are about 10p so not worth reusing. good luck. |
So it does unscrew:bouncy: Its a 2002 748S Thanks for everyone's help. Mike |
