Blimey that is a very expensive way of manufacturing them !!!!

He must have the aluminium swarf mountain of europe !!!

If it was milled from billet....you think he would of made it thicker ie stronger! (i heard a cynic say its just a machined std cover thats anodised!)

If it was from billet, they cost normally a lot more than that.

Just looked, billet ones normally £100 ish upwards

Thought standard ones were pressed steel ... if so steel can not be anodised.

If it anodised it must be ally.

There was a guy selling standard covers with holes cut in them as a cheap version of a cut-a-way cover.

My standard one is steel. Were aluminium ones just fitted to certain years/models?

I thought ally ones were aftermarket items only, hence why I think the one on e-bay can not be a standard cover that has been cut.

Guess I'll find out soon.
Cant imagine the 'from solid' but hey ho lets find out.
£4 postage is also very cheap.
Watch this space

Looks good Steve.
If you continue to bling up the 999 you won't want to sell it.
