best brake pads?
 

could do with some new brake pads for the bike, anybody got any suggestions?
the pads in it are performance friction. have had a bimble about on the road with them, and ideally would like a bit more bite. do they need some heat in them to work properly, or are they just past the sell by date? :biaggi:

Might have a slight glaze? Whip em out and sandpaper them, then try again.

Yeah they do need heat in them, they're race pads not for road use, but they give a consistent performance all the way to the end of their life.

They do need to be bedded in properly and there is a procedure to follow in order to do this. If you don't they won't give you the bite they're famous for and why a lot of people rave about them.

that's probably it - they would be cold, because the roads were damp.
if they're the weapon of choice, I'll probably get a spare set for gaudix :)
as they are a little low.

I love them, they're my pad of choice now :D

They're not cheap, but do give more performance and value for money (as they last longer)

Personally I use Lucas pads (yes, I said LUCAS!!) - coz Louigi supplies them, but actually they turned out to be bloody good too. Speak to Rich @ Louigi Moto for those :)

I thought the pads had gone off, but if they need heat to work thats probably the reason.
there's still some meat on them, so will probably try and fudge it until after spain (whoopee...............................!)
bound to be somebody with a spare set there if a problem. ;)

Myself and Tim both run Bendix MF pads ......

Brilliant pads..never had any problems..loads of feel and super grip...and a little more cost effective than " others ".........

warm up instantly...and i have never had any fade.

Try the race pads from Brembo, these we have found to be the best for the application.

Got a couple of odd experiences with performance friction pads.
My bike - had a new set put in at Assen and a previously on/off brake lever became squidgy and horrible, many frustrated bleeds later and litres of brake fluid - no better.
Dessie - on the other hand -single disc - no issues whatsoever and they are still in the bike now which my son uses on the road and has no problems right from cold.
I put EBC ones in Max - hey presto - great feel again, on/off lever, no problems.
