I have removed the small side stand switch sub-loom so that the motor will run with the stand stand down.
Whilst I've got away with it for a couple of years, it is only a matter of time 'til I start the bike in gear and it all goes crunch onto its side.
Now, I seem to remember that the is a simple mod to bridge a couple of wires that will result in the bike not starting when it is in gear (but with the stand down).
Anyone got any clues? (Be gentle, you're dealing with an electrical baboon here).
Mood: R U thinking what I'm thinking?......Oh dear!
You can make one up yerself for about 50p in bits but it won't look as nice and one with the proper connectors on.
Did a DIY job on my 998 ages ago with the intention of fitting the "proper thing" I bought off Nelly but so far i just haven't got round to it!
Somewhere on here, probabaly in the archives are the instructions on how to do the DIY job but if you are clueless with a soldering iron or making secure elctrical connections I'd go for the plug in option with the proper connectors, about £25 IIRC.
Whichever option you go for the bike will run with the sidstand down but as soon as you select a gear with the sidestand down , i.e the neutral light goes out the engine cuts. Runs and rides as normal with the sidestand up.
