Suspension and clutch question

Can anyone give me some advice on how to adjust the spring preload on the rear suspension unit, will I have to remove the exhaust connecting pipes to get the ‘C’ spanner in there or is there another way of doing this job.

Also, has anyone got a clutch basket holding tool that I can borrow, I’m located in Crawley, West Sussex.

Ive got two types of 'C' spanner and none of them work.I ended up using a hammer and a punch. You wont damage the lockrings if you're carefull and make sure the punch is square on.
