SP4, SPS, SP5 , Racing tech questions.

Now that I'm on a mission for parts I need to clear up a few questions that are bugging me.

On my quest for parts, i've been told several different versions on what the spec on the SP4/SPS/SP5 and racing are.

Now then, is the sps the identical engine lump as the sp5, and corse engine.
I've been told from varing sources that the SP4 has major internal differences, so parts are out there.
Also there seems to be varying answers as far as the SP5 is similar to SPS but there are subtle differnces to heads and valves, also possibly revised pistons etc.
SPS seems to be closer to corse engine than road SP versions.
any chance of getting a correct breakdown on specs guys.
at worse case, if I can't source SPS parts, I need to be sure parts from the other version will match my existing unit.
If not I'm looking at having to replace a lot more parts if they are even a little bit different, if you get my drift.
any SP5 or corse part number would be really helpfull etc.

Jasper, any thoughts mate on spec.

cheers

Robin, have you posted this question on the US board. Mike C and Marvin J are oracles on these bikes.

As far as i know, the SP5 is the SPS engine with the Sp4 cooling system.I have trawled through all my Ducati books and engine wise there seems to be no difference.Same cams, rods, compression, valves etc. That's all i can offer you i'm afraid.
