I stupidly thought that to save a few pounds and to learn a bit about servicing that performing an oil change myself was the way to go.
I tried to remove the filter using a removal strap that a friend lent me. Would not budge. SO I then stupidly banged a screw driver through it and that has just torn the filter.
Any ideas. Looks like I may well be going to Mondays BSB in the car.
Since you've already tried the screwdriver method, and probably don't have enough filter left after tearing it for a strap wrench, you'll have to try drifting it out very gently.
There is a specialist tool available for extracting torn / damaged oil filters, but I can't remember the name.
If some one has a broken oil filter ,could they send it to me and i will try and make something up to remove it while its on the bike , ,once i get back to work that is
