2000 was Hodgson's year with 2 WSB wild card wins against world class competition and factory bikes. I'll never forget round 13 at Olton when he stalled on the grid and had to start from the back row - still won it by a country mile - sheer class
Walker was unlucky, but you could say the same about the years 1997 to 1999 when he came 2nd each year also.
Hodgson had to get the new 999 to the line all through 2003 with no settings and with dicky weight distribution problems which didn't get sorted out until late last year. He won the World Championship and no one can take it away from him - like him or not.
