Rocker Shocker.....
Heads have been stripped, de-coked, new valve guides fitted, new valve seats cut, steam cleaned all ready for the new cams, Vernier pulleys ready to go on after, looks like new, but....

The big question is, how many rockers am I replacing?????

As a guide to the answer, it's a '97 bip with 15,500m on the clock, and I'm really glad I have a complete set of spare heads with under 1.5K on them......

Well for your sake Mr S, I hope you don't beat my record!

The cams were OK, which was surprising, though most of the rockers are only starting to go, but there were a couple that were really bad.

There were about 3 that would have been OK, but I opted to have them all swapped with the rockers from the newer heads so that they were all of the same age / condition instead of risking the others going in a few months time.

So I now have 2 sets of standard cams (or will have when I fetch the bits after it's all done) along with a pair of late model head cstings, valves etc (but no rockers )

How glad am I about buying those heads when I did.
