I stayed at the manor house in a place called West Pentire near Newquay and there was a campsite that looked good just down the road. I told my mate at work that I'd been to West Pentire, turned out that he'd stayed in the camp site with his missus and kids several times and thought it was a good place.

Big wide sandy beach (fairly shallow water quite a way out from what I remember) is about 100 yds, as is a pub called 'The Bowgie' which as I recall is where I spent a lot of time...that's on the way to the beach so if you feel thirsty after a 100 yards, it's a good place to stop.

I think my youngest was about 7 at the time (Jeeeez, that makes it 14 years ago, seems like only 3 or 4), and there's plenty of stuff to do in Cornwall for nippers if you're prepared for a half hour to an hour ride in the car to go somewhere.

Glyn,

There are some great camp sites near Saunton Sands

http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.sr...app=newmap.srf

Cracking part of the world with Barnstable and Ilfracombe not far away ...

I've camped here in Croyde ..... http://www.parkdeanholidays.co.uk/ruda-holiday-park.htm

glyn

i may be just be your man, seeing as i be the only bugger on this site who happens to live in cornwall

tell me what type of holiday you want, excitement, pubbing, clubbing, relaxing, bike or no bike, camping or caravan and i will recommend you a few sites and maybe even sort you out somewhere a bit cheaper if i can

plus the missus is functions manageress in a bike friendly 3 star hotel if that helps.

i was thinking of starting up a ducati-cornwall section but didnt think it was worth it but i think it may be now

hope i canhelp you bud

dave

We used http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/ to sort out where to stay last year. It has loads of personal site recommendations and we are going back to the same site this year in North Devon which is www.warcombefarm.co.uk
