Anyone doing anything else with their Due bikes?

Is anyone thinking of entering other races with their Desmo bikes?
Was thinking of a couple of NG meetings myself - what about you ?

I could be up for something - depending on cost and timings etc ... it would be good to get a bit more experience.

I'm thinking of maybe entering the odd NG race meeting, I have just got back from their Pembrey test weekend where I was catching up with a few mates and lending a hand when needed. kept asking myself what would I get the 600SS around there in.
So if you see 181 (yep the same either way up) on a SS out on the NG grid it will be me.

Is that with mini-twins Kev?

Mini twins or 650 Street stocks
another reason why I'm not getting a big bore kit fitted early on, would like to keep that option open for the bike next year maybe with someone else riding it.
May look at doing a Pembrey Friday practice and then race on the Saturday only of a two day meet, stay on Sunday to help Dallas out but with van packed and parked on the outside of the circuit for a early get away.

Hmmm well I was looking at it but the rules for Minitwins don't allow for my monster with a bore kit
Reckon i'd just be roadkill in the SoT but will keep an eye on the lap times and see .
Bugger.

In SoT on my 916 I could just about keep myself on the same lap as Phil bevan on his Ex GSE 996RS, now he is out of that class my mates Deano and Andy Peck will be among the front runners with lap times around Pembrey likely to be 62 secs, my best time on the 916 was 67secs and a bit, my target for the 583cc 600SS with no engine tuning would be around 1min 13secs. From the old hairpin through woodlands and H0nda curve and down the start finish straight will be handicapped by the 5 speed box.
Still I would like to give it a go.

minitwins were getting round in around 66 seconds at best last year if that's any help? Having said that one chap on a CB500, standard apart from exhaust, was getting around fairly well in arouind 69 - 70 seconds, and beating a few SoT bikes. I reckon a 750SS or even better an 800SS would be a scream in minitwins, which are hampered by slightly flexible forks and dodgy brakes ...
