For LIVE music lovers, musicians and Australians only

My village has an excellent festival every 2 years and this June will see Wargrave Village Festival 2005.

On Saturday 18th June 2005 we have a major coup in that we have Tommy Emmanuel & Johnny Dickinson live for one night.

As Festival Treasurer, I have a few tickets remaining for this unique event and wondered if anyone from the DSC would be interested in coming along.

btw he's Australian and closed the Sydney Olympics in 2000 - so come along TP and support your fellow countryman.

The advertising blurb says -

Your unique opportunity to see this guitar legend in person in a village setting.

Generally acknowledged to be one of the world’s best finger picker guitarists he has worked with Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder, and Chet Atkins as well as the Australian Philharmonic.

A coup for Wargrave, the next day he plays at the Carnegie Hall, New York!* In support Johnny, a Northumbrian, is an accomplished singer and entertainer with a unique slide guitar style.

Be prepared to be astounded.

The tickets are £17.50 each so U2U me for further details.

More info can be found at the following websites:

I can vouch for Tommy Emmanuel being a LEGEND!!!

I went to a guitar workshop in Melbourne with a mate of mine who played once. Tommy ran one part of the workshop and I was blown away by his finger dexterity and the ease at which he switched between different styles of music. Amazing.

I would love to come and see him David but I'm not sure I can make it.

I'll talk to my lovely wife and see what we come up with. Thanks for the invite.
