m600 fork internals

just taken one of my fork legs apart to change a fork seal.

but I found broken up plastic inside the fork tube.
it's from a plastic bush on the damper tube.

I cant' see this item listed on the parts diagram.

what can I do?

1-will a dealer have a better parts break down diagram or do I have to buy a whole damper tube assembly?

2-reassemble with out it.

3-send off both legs to be re-valved.

James,
Maybe this is the same diagram you're looking at, but it seems pretty detailed...

Don't know then chap. Looks like it's a bump stop, so if it's badly damaged then you'll obviously need another one.
Hope you don't need to buy the damper tube cos they're a bit pricey... into 3 figures I believe!

CMW might be more helpful then me, otherwise e-bay is your friend!

p.s. chain tool is with psy.

James, Alan says he has an old pair of forks - for a 600. (which came with the tricolour originally as a 98 M600)

The tubes are pitted on the outside, but the insides may be of some use to you.
He says you are quite welcome to take them to strip them for bits if you like?
He would like unused bits back tho.

FOC - but you collect mate (they are at the stable store!)

Doesnt seem like you need to borrow the fork tool? - but if you do - Alan will sort it out for you.

James, the 748 forks wont fit into your monster yokes - and as you suspect, they wont meet DD rules, as they are fully adjustable mate. You would have to machine the yokes to take them.

you are quite welcome to pull these ones apart - and nick the plastic spacer ifs its of any use to you.

You out this weekend?
