Need a bit of help please re travel to airports...

I have to get to Heathrow from midlands on 1st Feb. I looked into driving and leaving car but i'm away for a month and thats expensive in airport parking.
Looked into trains but means going from here to New Street and then on to Heathrow and that ain't cheap either.
Looked into one way hire - hmmm !
The only coach co I can find is National Express and the schedule is less than perfect.
Cant ask my Dad or Son as I consider it too far for them to drive and Jase is working anyway.
Does anyone have any other suggestions for travel from midlands to Heathrow thats not going to break the bank ?
Put it this way - i'm staying in a 5 star hotel in Dubai for less than it's going to cost to travel to airport so far.
Any of you good people got any good ideas or links I can use please ?

don't know if either of these work for you Lynn.

1) Do you know anyone in London with secure parking? You could then take the Heathrow express from Paddington. My street does not have any parking restrictions (E16) if you don't mind your car being unattended for a month.

2) How about Madmav's chauffeur service? I don't know his rates but I'd guess it is less than the hotel cost?

I've used the coach/bus from Oxford before - runs every hour to Gatwick but stops at Heathrow first. Seem to remember it being reasonably priced and not taking that long either

Cheers

Phone me tonight Lin - I cant get time off work that day, but if it will help, you can leave your car with us - and we can either run you to airport (30 mins max in non traffic time) or buses run to & from our local station to Heathrow every hour (or more) on a direct non-stopping service.
